🌊 Optional Family Adventures in Unawatuna
Customize your stay with these hand-picked island experiences:

Is this trip for our family?
This trip is for families who love to explore, connect, and make new friends. We believe that with a relaxed mindset, your family will have an unforgettable experience. While this is a curated Roady Family trip, it remains an adventure at heart. Sri Lanka is a land of wonders which means sometimes the unexpected happens. You might encounter local wildlife, experience a brief dip in internet speed, or find that the tropical humidity is part of the charm. We embrace these differences; otherwise, it wouldn’t be an escape! While we plan for perfection, nature (like rain or mist) can occasionally shift our itinerary. We ask that all families join us with an adventurous spirit to create a joyful group dynamic.
Is there an age requirement?
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all explorers during our nature safaris and optional highland walks, this Roady Family trip is designed for families with children aged 5 years and older.
What kind of rooms are we staying in?
We prioritize family togetherness. We provide spacious family rooms configured for 3 or 4 guests. Every stay features full private facilities.
(Check-in 14:00 / Check-out 12:00).
Is international airfare provided?
Yes! Roady handles the logistics. We arrange your return flights from Larnaca to Colombo (with only one short hop in Dubai each way) so you can focus on the excitement.
What is the size of the group?
To keep the experience intimate and exclusive, we travel in small circles. The group typically consists of 3 to 4 families, with a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 14 travelers.
How do we meet for the journey?
We’ll coordinate with all families via a dedicated WhatsApp group beforehand. We can arrange shared transport to Larnaca airport or simply meet at the gate. Upon landing in Colombo, our private driver will be waiting to whisk us away to our “soft landing” in Negombo.
Do we need specific equipment?
No special gear is required. However, we recommend comfortable walking shoes for the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. Since we visit the misty highlands of Ella, a light sweater or waterproof jacket is a must for those cooler mountain mornings.
Will our family have time for ourselves?
Absolutely. We believe the best memories happen in the quiet moments. While our itinerary is curated, we avoid over-scheduling. There is plenty of time for your family to explore, swim, or relax privately.
Why are some meals not included?
We want you to discover Sri Lanka’s vibrant flavors at your own pace. While we include all breakfasts and an exclusive New Year’s Eve celebration dinner, we leave snacks, lunches, and some dinners open for personal exploration.
This flexibility allows your family to enjoy a quiet gelato in the historic streets of Galle, a casual lunch at a local find in the hills of Ella, or a light snack whenever the kids need a break. It’s all about the perfect balance of planned luxury and spontaneous island discovery.
What about visas?
Visas must be arranged in advance by each family. We are more than happy to guide you through the process and provide any necessary details!
Estimated Cost: Around €55 per person for the standard 30-day tourist ETA.
Important Note: For families with young children, please note that children under 12 years of age are generally exempt from the visa processing fee when applying through the official ETA portal.
Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Sri Lanka.
Can I save spots?
No, spots are only effectively reserved after payment.
