DAY 1 – Marrakech
Salam Alaikum! Welcome to Morocco! We land in Marrakech just before midday, where we are met at the airport by our driver who will take us to our hotel, located near the old town of Marrakech.
After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax or walk around the old town, before meeting up for a group dinner and a first chance to try some of Morocco’s authentic flavors.
Accommodation: Marrakech Riads NL Collection or similar
DAY 2 – Marrakech
Today is dedicated to exploring the most beautiful spots in Marrakech and the hidden corners of its gigantic medina. To do so, we rely on the help of our local guide, who will tell us about Morocco and take us through the streets and alleys, showing us the artisans, the tapestries, the spices in a herbalist’s shop…
We will also visit the gorgeous Bahia Palace and the magnificent Ben Youssef Madrasah, where you’ll learn about Muslim culture and architecture.
For those who wish, tickets can also be arranged for an afternoon visit to the incredible Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum next door (optional activity).
In the evening, we will wander the legendary Jemaa El-Fnaa Square and soak up the atmosphere as we watch the live street artists perform. For dinner, you can snack at one of the dozens of local street food stalls in the square, or alternatively, make your way to one of the city’s numerous classy restaurants and spectacular rooftop bars.
Accommodation: Marrakech Riads NL Collection or similar
DAY 3 – Essaouira
Today we trade Marrakech’s intensity and its red walls for the laid-back vibes of Essaouira’s blue shutters and its crashing Atlantic waves.
This perfect coastal escape takes us through argan country and on the way, we will stop at a co-operative started to empower Moroccan women, who will show you how argan oil is produced in Morocco. If we get lucky, we may even catch a glimpse of the country’s famous tree-climbing goats, before arriving in Essaouira, where our guide will receive us and walk us through the medina’s maze-like alleys and show us its historic ramparts, as well as the local harbour, with its local fish market, photogenic boats and squawking flocks of seagulls.
For lunch, we will stop at one of the several fresh seafood restaurants in the medina, while the afternoon is yours to chill by the ocean or explore the medina further on your own. We will head back to Marrakech in the late afternoon, arriving in time for a last wander and some dinner.
Accommodation: Marrakech Riads NL Collection or similar
DAY 4 – Dades Valley
Get ready for the start of a brave, new adventure! 3 days that will begin in Marrakech and take us through rugged gorges, winding mountain roads with green, lush valleys beneath and onto the jaw-dropping dunes of the Sahara Desert.
Our day will start early in the morning and after breakfast at our hotel, we will start our drive east towards Dades Gorge, passing small suburban towns along the way and curving our way up the High Atlas Mountains.
The mountain roads will lead us through the famous Tizi Ntichka pass, before eventually curving down to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Aït Ben Haddou, famous for appearing in films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and more recently, Game of Thrones. This is where we will also be stopping for lunch.
The final leg of our journey will take us past the city of Ouarzazate, where you will have the choice of visiting either the films studios and cinema museum, or Taourirt Kasbah, before we end our drive along the famous Road of 1000 Kasbahs, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.
Accommodation: Hotel Babylon or similar
DAY 5 – Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes
After a well-earned rest, we start the day with a traditional Moroccan breakfast, before setting off to Merzouga. During today’s drive, there will be plenty of opportunities for stops to take pictures and enjoy the surrounding scenery, including visits to the beautiful Todra Gorge and the town of Rissani, most famous for its date market.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Merzouga, just in time for a sunset camel trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Naturally, not everyone feels comfortable riding a camel, so this activity is not obligatory and you can also choose to get to our camp on foot (about an hour walk), or simply get driven there by car if you so prefer (*extra costs may apply*).
We will arrive at our luxury camp before darkness to enjoy a Moroccan dinner under the stars, next to the campfire, with our Moroccan Bedouin hosts entertaining us with a performance of local drumming.
Accommodation: Desert Luxury Camp
DAY 6 – Merzouga to Marrakech
We start the day by admiring the sunrise coming up over the Saharan dunes, before riding our camels back to Merzouga. Or for those who prefer, they will have the opportunity to rent dune buggies for an hour instead (inquire regarding costs) in order to go riding in the desert. And for the truly adventurous ones out there, you can throw a pair of sandboards onto the back of the buggy and go sliding down the dunes in style!
Once the fun and games are over, we will head off on the return leg of our desert tour, driving across the High Atlas Mountains and back towards Marrakech. Our tour will end at our hotel in Marrakech at around late-afternoon. We will arrive tired, but exhilarated at the experiences of the last two days. The evening is yours to do as you please.

Is this trip for me?
This trip is for people who like to have fun and make friends, regardless of their age. We are sure that if you come with a relaxed mindset, you’ll have an unforgettable couple of weeks. It is important to understand that this is an adventure trip, and as such, there is always an element of the unexpected. Traveling in Morocco is not like staying at the Hilton in London… a lot can happen, from coming across different animals to getting a weak or no internet connection, the air conditioning breaking, the shower having lower water pressure and temperature than the one in your house, the food not being as good as your mother’s, etc.
But it’s good that things are different, otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth leaving home. Also, good weather is unfortunately not a guarantee, as sometimes it can rain, it can snow, there may be sandstorms, and it is important that you know that there may be changes in the itinerary. What kind of a trip would it be without some adventure?
If you invite a friend to come on the tour, it is essential that you pass this information on to them. We want to make sure that everyone who comes along is aware of what to expect and that they join us with the right, adventurous mind frame that will create a healthy group dynamic!
What kind of rooms are we staying in?
We will be staying in twin rooms. If you are traveling alone, you will be paired with another traveler of the same gender. If you are traveling as a couple, you’ll get your own private room together.
What if I want a single room?
Please let us know if this is something that you would like and we will try to arrange it for you if possible. All additional costs will be incurred by the client. The hotels we stay in are often booked in advance and it is therefore impossible to ensure that there are single rooms on the date you make the request.
Is international airfare provided?
Yes, return flights between Larnaca and Marrakech (via Athens) with Aegean will be included in the package.
Each traveler will have the right to check-in a 23 kilogram suitcase, as well as to take an 8 kilogram bag on board as hand luggage.
Can I go alone?
Of course, most of our travelers sign up individually. They go to Morocco alone and come back with 10 new friends.
Who will I share my journey with?
You’ll spend the trip with our tour leader, Marcos. You’ll also spend the 8 days with other travelers who have many things in common with you, like a passion for traveling, for adventure, for discovery … and who are looking for new emotions and unforgettable moments on this trip. We normally have travelers from anywhere between 28 to 50 years old and we can assure you that the atmosphere is very fun and that you’ll end the trip with a new group of friends.
What is the exact number of travelers in the group?
It depends on the demand for that specific tour, but minimum 9 and maximum 13.
Is the group of travelers flying together?
On this specific trip, we will all be traveling together from Cyprus as the flights between Cyprus and Morocco are included in the package cost.
If anyone whose original departure point is not Cyprus wants to join the trip, they can get in touch with Roady and we will give them an amended price for the trip without flights.
In such cases, however, the traveler will be responsible for organizing their own flights, but only after pre-agreeing on their arrival time with Roady Travel so that it coincides with the itinerary of the trip.
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 21 years old or older. However, we try to put together a group, where we feel similar interests will be held. That is to say, similar age groups and dynamics. As a result, we personally speak to all potential travelers to make sure that they fit in with the environment that we wish to create.
Do I need to take any specific equipment?
No, no special equipment is necessary, just bring comfortable clothes and shoes/sneakers. A bandana can be useful in the desert, as might a sweater in case of a chilly, desert night.
Will I have any time for myself?
Of course! We hate tours that book every minute of your day. Our tour will be busy, but there will also be plenty of time to go exploring on your own!
Why are some dinners not included?
We like to give you some time to be alone and seize every second of the day your own way. With that in mind, most lunch times are free (except on travel days), as are some dinners so that you can go wherever you want.
What about visas?
People with Cypriot and Greek passports do not need advanced visas. You just need to make sure that you present a valid passport set to expire at least 6 months after the date of the end of the trip.
All other passports, please inquire for info.
How many spots can I book at one time for the tour?
As many as you want. The maximum number of travelers is 13.
Can I save spots?
No, spots are only effectively reserved after payment.
Any doubts?
If you still have doubts, send us an e-mail at: hello@roadytravel.com
Please let us know as soon as possible regarding any dietary requirements or allergies.
